It for sure can affect walking. The Carotid arteries are responsible for blood supply to the brain. A blockage in one of these arteries or its branches can lead to decreased blood supply to specific areas of the brain. This shall mimic some type of stroke called an ischemic stroke, due to loss of blood supply. The corresponding area of the body, in this case the legs and feet, if the branch blocked supplies the areas commanding the feet in the brain.
