Can Bacterial Vaginosis Be Misdiagnosed As Trichomonas Vaginalis?
Question: Can BV be misdiagnosed as TV? Can BV turn into TV or be transmitted during sex?

You should know that BV and TV may have the same symptoms and sometimes we may misdiagnosed them. Trichomoniasis is caused by a parasitic protozoa called Trichomonas vaginalis.
Usually we should do a test of vaginal fluids to define if you have trichomoniasis or is just a bacterial vaginosis.
Bacterial vaginosis cannot be turned to TV and is not always caused by a sexually transmitted infection.
They both have the same treatment with Metronidazole.

Thank you for the information. I am just trying to get all the information that I can. My marriage is already rocky and this could be the deciding factor. I am not at fault but will be blamed. Is there any other way that the female can get TV? I was reading something about dirty towels, unclean sex toys, etc. If it helps, feel free to expand beyond my questioning if I am not posing the questions correctly.
