Brief Answer:
Can continue.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for posting your query.

You can safely continue using the contraceptive pill for another ten months as you wish to. Only, you need a visit to the gynecologist to see if everything is fine.

Ovulation usually returns within one or two cycles after stopping the usage of the pill. So, most often, there should not be any problem in conception after stopping the pill. Moreover, since you plan to use it only for a year, it is possible that ovulatory function will return soon.

If yet, you are hesitant to use the combination pills, you can choose one of the barrier methods or go for the low dose or progestin-only pills.

Of the safe methods, you can follow the safe period of the cycle. Safe period is that period of the cycle where the risk of conception is low due to lack of the ovulation during that period. In a typical 28-30 day cycle, safe period falls a week before and a week after the period.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

regards,
