Question: I am a Pancreatic cancer survivor. Was diagnosed in Aug 2008, had Whipple in Sept. 2008 followed by 6 months of chemo ( weekly) Spent 11 days in the XXXXXXX Clinic. I am over 8 years cancer free. I have tried to contact the XXXXXXX Clinic and NIH to find out why no one is interested in my case considering the fact that there are no statistics on survival past 5 years and only approximately only 7% survive to 5 years. To no avail! I can only imagine survivors could possibly the best source of information for the future of those who have this deadly disease. It saddens me to think that all of the research and funding do not include people like. SURVIVORS!! If I could help save 1 life...

Brief Answer:
Hello dear. You will live for long

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. Yes i understand your concern. But probably as very few survive beyond 5 years and are probably cured, they are not studied again. They should be studied in retrospectively to look for the possible factors related to long survival
Thanks and regards

So why does no one study us retrospectively to gain any information about our longevity? I don't understand. Pancreatic cancer is the number 4 cancer killer of both men and women. I have a friend who will die soon of this killer.

Brief Answer:
Hello. Just because of very few patients

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. Any study requires a goid no. Of patients, say upto 500 or 1000. So as the survivors are very few, its very difficult to locate them worldwide, make a data of 500, and plan a study.
Thanks and regards
