Question: Can Hyaluronidase spread and impact other areas of your face? I had an aggressive treatment done to treat Tyndall effect around mouth and it seems to have had an impact on my eyes! They are wrinkled and hollowed out. I’ve been extremely stressed over this entire situation but the different in my eyes is shocking. With this return to normal and is there anything I can do?

Brief Answer:
Regarding hyaluronidase

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid and it is usually used to counter side effects resulting from filler injection like subcutaneous nodules and tyndall effect. It acts locally and does not act on sites away from the site of injection. Moreiver, this enzyme usually acts only on aesthetically injected hyaluronic acid and is not known to breakdown any of the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid present in tissues.

Can you let me know what you think caused the drastic changes in eyes since treatment? Can stress cause these changes?

Brief Answer:
Regarding dark circles around eyes

Detailed Answer:
Thank you.

Yes, indeed. Stress and if too much of it can induce dark circles around eyes or make them look worse. Perhaps you have been very stressed lately over the filler injection gone wrong and may not be sleeping adequately.

Thank you Dr. Kakkar. This entire ordeal has been so stressful. My face doesn’t look the same and the discoloration is still there. It’s a mess. But thank you for your feedback.
