Brief Answer:
Clindamycin should be continued

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

1. With regards to the side effects of Clindamycin

Side effects can occur with any antibiotic. But in your case, these side effects are not life-threatening. They will subside in the due course of therapy. Clindamycin is indicated as there is no response to Amoxycillin. Duration of therapy may extend up to 5 to 7 days. Significant improvement is usually noted. It's advisable to finish the full course of prescribed medication as usual.

2. With regards to OSA cure

Extensive surgery has been done to offer near cure in your case.

3. Pathologic examination of postoperative tonsil specimen is usually indicated as a part of routine management to rule out malignancy (cancer). Update me with test reports. Nothing to worry much as cancer is a rare event in a tonsil.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Short term antibiotic therapy is sufficient

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Non-invasive actinomyces implies benign bacterial infection localized to tonsil.

Hence you need not worry about it. This infection can be adequately controlled by antibiotics (which you are already put on). Long-term antibiotic treatment is not required.

This is already resolved with tonsil removal.

No candidal or fungal elements observed.

Hope I have answered your query.
