I changed the batteries in my BP monitor, and then the counter was working correctly. Took it and BP was 157/93, so I waited a little bit and took it again and it was 148/85. The Doctor increSed my Metoprolol to 75mg, and I have been on the increased dose for 1 week. Have an appt. at Doctors office this afternoon to have nurse check BP. Hopefully she will get a better reading.

Yes, the manual BP apparatus is more accurate than the automated ones. Keep your dietary salt intake low for proper BP control.

I went to doctors office, but the nurse took my BP with the machine not manually and it was 152/88, but she didn%E2%80%99t seem concerned she said it was probably because it%E2%80%99s in the afternoon, and blood pressure can run higher in the afternoon. I asked if she could take again manually, but she didn%E2%80%99t seem to think it was necessary. She checked with the doctor, and the doctor didn%E2%80%99t seem concerned either. He just told me to stop worrying. I have been on the increased dosage of Metropolol for 1 week,And although the bottom number is better than it was when I started other than the fluky meeting this morning the top number still seems high to me but as I said the doctor doesn%E2%80%99t seem to be concerned so I guess I should just relax, and hopefully the increase of medication will take affect soon. The nurse did say that the reading this morning was probably due to the low batteries in the monitor just as you had thought. Your thoughts if any?

Brief Answer:
Hello again

Detailed Answer:
The blood pressure reading of 152/88 is not significantly high for your age group and yes you need to stop overthinking about it. Stress and anxiousness also increases bp.

Continue for another one week and keep monitoring your blood pressure regularly. If after a week it stay same then you can discuss with your doctor about increasing the dose.

Kind Regards
