Are There Ways To Manage Spreading Vitiligo When Anti TPO Levels Are Raised?

default
Posted on Tue, 23 Jan 2024
Question: My wife has the Vitiligo and is spreading since last few months. When doctor suggested to get the medical tests, Her Anti-TPO(MicroSomal) AB is 218, which is very high.
We are not going to get the doctor appointment to treat her Anti-TOP(MicroSomal) AB for atleast another 10 -15 days.

Can you please suggest if this is serious to consider immediate attention? Is this going to make her have Thyroid?
Can there be any counter medicine or home-remedies she need to consider?
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Nothing serious

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have reviewed the attached reports.
Her Anti TPO levels are raised.
This isn't serious.
It indicates that thyroid auto antibodies are raised and vitiligo is also an autoimmune disease. This is just a relation between raised TPO and vitiligo.
No active intervention is required for this finding.
This indicates that thyroid auto antibodies are raised in blood but this doesn't require any treatment as of now.
