surgery if there is a fracture or difficulty swallowing

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

At present , there are no surgical or laser or invasive treatments for D.I.S.H unless there is a fracture or difficulty swallowing.

It is a condition where there is bony formation within ligaments in the body.

The exact cause is not known.

Some persons may have no or few symptoms only but others may have persistent pain and limited movement.

Treatment is mainly focussed on relieving any symptoms that are present but there are no surgical or laser treatments available at present unless there is an associated fracture or dysphagia (difficulty swallowing).
Dysphagia can occur if D.I.S.H occurs in the neck and compresses the esophagus or throat

Treatment mainly involves the use of anti inflammatory pain medication such as naproxen, ibuprofen etc and physiotherapy.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
