Are Frequent Episodes Of Pain In The Middle Of The Chest Associated With Heart Problems?
Question: Twice in the last week I have felt some pain in the middle of my chest that lasts a few minutes & the goes away.
1. Once I was awakened in the middle of the night while I was asleep with this pain. It was located in the middle of my chest and seemed to last about 1 minute. The it went away and went back to sleep. I thought it may have been severe heartburn since I ate spicy foods that day.
2. Two days later, I again felt the same pain in the middle of my chest while I was asleep. It only lasted a few seconds & the I feel back asleep. On this day I don't recall eating spicy foods.
Are these symptoms something to be concerned about? Could it be a sign of heart troubles? Or even a heart attack?

2. I do not have diabetes, my last A1c was 5.7; I do not have hypertension (although lately I have had a lot of stress at work); and I do not smoke nor do I drink regularly
3. Do you think that this is an urgent situation?
