Are Frequent Episodes Of Pain In The Middle Of The Chest Associated With Heart Problems?

default
Posted on Wed, 19 Apr 2023
Question: Twice in the last week I have felt some pain in the middle of my chest that lasts a few minutes & the goes away.

1. Once I was awakened in the middle of the night while I was asleep with this pain. It was located in the middle of my chest and seemed to last about 1 minute. The it went away and went back to sleep. I thought it may have been severe heartburn since I ate spicy foods that day.

2. Two days later, I again felt the same pain in the middle of my chest while I was asleep. It only lasted a few seconds & the I feel back asleep. On this day I don't recall eating spicy foods.

Are these symptoms something to be concerned about? Could it be a sign of heart troubles? Or even a heart attack?

Brief Answer:
Needs cardiac evaluation.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I would like to tell you that your symptoms could be of cardiac origin so it’s advisable to get a basic cardiac screening done which includes the following tests:

1. Ecg

2. Echocardiography

3. Treadmill Test

Also, I would like to know that, do you have any history of diabetes, hypertension, do you smoke?

Kindly revert back with the required details.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
