A Close Friend's Recent Angiogram Test Due To A Weak

default
Posted on Fri, 12 Apr 2019
Question: A close friend's recent angiogram test due to a weak and enlarged heart shows no artery blockage. Another test shows pulmonary edema, and she was diagnosed gastritis -- now slowly recovering. She recurrently feels "not well" in a way that is hard to describe. Occasionally she awakes to find the "room spinning" around her. Could her combination of medications be the source of this trouble (lasix, amlodipine, lanoxin, eliquis, Telmisartan, lamivudine, and blood thinner)?

Brief Answer:
Please refer to the detailed answer below

Detailed Answer:
Hello

After going through the medical details provided by you I can understand your concern for her health and I would like to tell you that her enlarged heart could be causing her blood pressure to stay on lower side which could be the probable reason for her head spinning.

Other possible reasons could be her pulmonary oedema.

I would personally like to review all her test reports like her Echocardiography report, her X-ray report and all other blood reports.

Kindly upload images of all the reports.

Kind Regards
Dr Bhanu Partap

Thanks Dr. Partap. I assume that your response implies that my concern about an unfortunate interactive effect of all those medications is not well founded. Is that right?
I would love to ask her to let me send you the results of those tests, all of which she has had; but she is in another country, and she has no facilities to scan them and pass them to me.
She has had a deeply sedentary life in the last 2 decades, poor-quality nutrition, and seems chronically preoccupied with negative thoughts (which, to me, means a virtually non-stop flow of the stress hormones into her system); but she is now trying to improve her life-style. I will take your report as a basis for encouraging her to press on with that improvement in the hope that her heart function will gradually gain strength based on her body's internal self-healing powers over the coming months. (I am also trying to help her move on to a better path as regards the quality of her nutrition.)
Thanks again, and please add any other thoughts you feel should be passed to her as she struggles with her many issues.

Brief Answer:
Hello again

Detailed Answer:
No, there are possibilities that all these Medications together might have caused spinning head, but the sense of not being well is due to the current medical issues.

Just encourage her to follow a healthy lifestyle which include going for morning walks, healthy diet, no smoking, proper sleep. This will help her physically as well as emotionally also.

And do upload the reports whenever you get them so that I can evaluate them and guide you accordingly.

Kind Regards

Thanks Dr. Partap. I will speak to her this morning to see if she will agree in principle to sharing the documents, and then discuss what can be done to transmit to me some of them electronically.
Cheers!

Hello Dr. Partap. My friend has agreed to try and upload from her phone reports from what I expect will be three tests, and will do so in the morning (Eastern time). I will try to enhance them so they will be clear enough to you. God willing, I will send them off to you in the late morning tomorrow, so that they will be ready for you when you awake the next day. Thanks in advance.
