Brief Answer:
No obvious bone changes but can undergo detailed imaging if needed
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have viewed the images and find no obvious bone abnormality. The swelling can be due to a prominent acromioclavicular joint.
However, please note that a xray can show only bone outlines and any soft tissue changes can go undetected on xrays. As it is not painful, it is less likely to be an infection or inflammation.
I suggest you get an ultrasound scan or MRI scan done for the area if you are sure about the swelling getting prominent just a week back and after discussing with the examining doctor.

Hello Dr XXXXXXX Chail,
We only noticed it about 7 days ago. It’s not sore to touch and not sore when moving the arm/shoulder etc.
When feeling the lump it’s feels to be hard like bone. And just on the shoulder end. She has similar on the other side but not prominent like her right side (Whichbis of the X-ray and picture).
Worried it’s something bad or bone cancer.

Brief Answer:
Keeping a watch for increase in the size over a month might help
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for sharing more details.
By all means, it can be the bone at the acromioclavicular joint itself or any fluid collection that feels hard due to overlying soft tissues in the area. However any abnormal fluid collection needs to be ruled out.
As there are no other symptoms and signs of inflammation, an aggressive inflammatory or infective process is ruled out.
A tumour usually takes 1 to 6 months time to double in most cases, therefore watching for increase in size is suggested. Cancer is less likely in a swelling of 1 week duration and difficulty to diagnose from the picture and the enclosed xray image.
Please keep a close watch on the swelling and report to your doctor.

Thank you for the reply.
Apologies for the poor quality photo of the x-ray. At least nothing bad is sticking out to yourself.
Will keep an eye on it.
