Question: 2013 I had my appendix removed- incisions ‘ belly button and left side? May have been right..”
2015- endometriosis- ‘ belly button, both left and right side.
2-15-19 endometriosis again. Above belly button, my request do to it hurt my belly button after my other surgeries. And both left and right side.

After my surgery in 2015 I recovered very quickly and was sore the next day but had no pain. Few days past of being sore but I was back to normal didn’t stop me from daily life.

After my surgery 2019- 3 weeks and 3 days ago. I am still having left side pain and middle of my stomach. When I pick stuff up it makes it hurt worse. The dr let me have 3 weeks off but I don’t think she’s believing me that it is still hurting. It’s a constant pain that get worse as I move around and lift and bend. Yesterday I took the laundry to the basement and my left side has been hurting a little worse ever since.
Is this normal? I’ve been tested for infection and other things by pee and getting tests done from the inside. Also had a internal ultrasound done. What could be causing my pain?

Brief Answer:
Probably cutaneous nerve entrapment after surgery, follow the advice below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I understand your concern.

There are many possible causes related to pain after surgery.

I see that you have already made several examinations to exclude a possible infection.

It will be very helpful if you can attach the results to help me through the diagnosis.

Another possible cause can be cutaneous nerve entrapment.

Many times, entrapped nerves will resolve on their own when the suture is absorbed by the body.

If the pain continue you should consult a surgeon.

Meanwhile, you can use anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three tablets a day.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
