I suffered with neck pain and stiffness for two days had to sleep sitting up, I went to my doctor he gave me600ibuprofen and flexerall, the ibuprofen helped three times a day, the flexerall cause some muscle problems all over, I stopped taking them, went to get an xray and they said it's arthritis, they prescribed two expensive medications which i could not afford, tramadol, and orphenadrine, I just kept taking tyhe ibuprofen, and woke up today and almost couldn't get out of bed it has moved to the bottom of my spine, Ibuprofen helps for awhile.

Welcome to HealthCare Magic

Hope you are doing good. You should take Muscle relaxant if Flexerall does not suit you then get some other Muscle relaxant with the same formula Cyclobenzaprine. Use pain killer with it.

Also go through few x-rays ( Spine ) it could be muscle spasm , usually Arthritis does not have those sign and symptoms. consult with your orthopedic he will help you further in detail.

I hope have answered your Query , feel free to ask
Wish you good Health. Regards

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. Saurabh Gupta's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.

It's not uncommon in young people like yourself to have these neck pains. These as you might have figured out are posture related. Though self limiting, it need not be underestimated.

You seem to follow a healthy lifestyle, which is favourable. All you need to do is correct your posture habits, like appropriate neck position while working on computer, avoiding pillow while sleeping, or while making sudden movements. I assure you this discomfort will go away unless you do something to aggravate it in your routine. That may also include the yoga you do, and you should consider suspending it until the pain goes away completely. You can gradually resume them and even do neck isometric exercises, which you can learn from a physiotherapist near you.

Hope this helps you.
Regards
