hi, my mom is about 55yrs of age. She had suffered with severe neck pain some time back. Doctors advised some exercises and pain killers. It reduced after some time. since 3 months or so she is now suffering with pain in left arm. She can t lift weights, can t put pressure on it. The pain is severe especially during the nights. What do you suggest?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The arm pain can probably be related to bursitis. I recommend using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using cold compresses for local application. If the symptoms continued, she should probably use prescription painkillers.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
