Suffering From Bipolar Disorder. Medical Cure For This?
What are some of the drugs used for treating Bipolar disease? My daughter is dating someone who has extreme mood swings - usually very irritable following a very happy time - then doesn't want to see her and doesn't go to work for several days. these incidents come about every 6 weeks or so. He does take something but she doesn't know what it is.
I went through your problem description. I suggest you not to worry too much. If the symptoms given by you are correct, then the person you are referring to, is having primary bipolar disorder. It can be cured if treated properly in the beginning itself.
First he should consult a clinical psychologist for assessing the depth and breadth of his problem. The problem might be cured with the help of psychotherapy methods which clinical psychologist can advice.
If clinical psychologist suggests, he should go to a psychiatrist for further medication. As the treatment totally depends on the correct diagnosis, suggesting medicines here is not useful.
Hope this clears your doubts. Available for further clarifications. Good luck.
