Smear shows scattered superficial parabasal squamous cell.Occasional pleomorphic cells seen. sir this is the Papsmear report f cervix. what is the problem
Hello and welcome to HCM,
The Paptest report reveals presence of parabasal cells.
Parabasal cells are the cells present above the basal layer.
In a normal paptest superficial squamous cells should be present.
Absence of superficial cells and prominence of parabasal cells suggests deficiency of estrogens.
Pleomorphic cells suggest malignancy, Biopsy needed.
Just received Papsmeartest stating 'smear shows superficial and intermediate squamous cells in a background of a few neutrophils'. Please can you explain. Thx
this is a report showing a normal cellular activity with neutrophils
neutrophils might be due to infection
