Painful Scalp, Flakes On Scalp. Suggest Oil?

Sometimes, when I move certain strands of hair whether its on the back of the scalp or it s on my hairline in the front of my scalp, I feel some pain and I ve also noticed alot of sort of chunky flakes in my hairline. It also seems that when I pick on at least 2 of the flaky chunks on the back of my scalp they will bleed but also feel very wet...like some type of oil. I hope you can help me understand what it is I have.

Hi,

It seems that you may be having scap psoriasis.

It is autuimmune skin disease of unknown cause.

There may be mild to severe itching,.

There may be tenderness.

There may oozing of blood after removing flakes.

Stress, dry weather,sunrays,alcohol,tabacco,worries,sleeplessness,drugs..etc may precipitate.

Local application of combined steroid and salicylic acid lotion might reduce the flakes.

Oral methotraxate and antihistaminics woud be helpful.

Oral steroids should be avoided.

You consult dermatologist for perfect diagnosis and treatment.

I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
