Blood in Stool.
Hi, I am a 21 year old female and for the past few weeks I have been noticing blood in my stool and having trouble going #2 because it is painful. I am a vegetarian but am very active and have plenty of fiber in my diet. What could be wrong with me?
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
Given you age, blood in stool warrants investigation. Have you been doing your screening colonoscopy? if not , please consider doing so now. Please, see your gastroenterologist
Also, a stool exam and a good rectal exam will help establish some other causes. Get consulted and let the cause be established.
Thanks and wish you well.
