What Causes Vertigo Attacks After Lasik Eye Surgeries?

I had 2 lasik eye surgeries 5 years ago to correct a very bad astigmatism and near-sightedness. Shortly afterward, I began having vertigo attacks and have now been diagnosed with Meniere's Disease. Before I was healthy. I believe the surgery caused the attacks. Has this happened in other people? I am a 53 year old woman weighing 118 lbs, 5'5".
