hi my grand mother is 65 yrs oldnow she is suffering frm herpes from the past 7 days.....today she was taken to hospital and take medicenes........Is it a transmitted disease? and how many days to cure tis disease...........?and is it harmfull?plz tell me in detail

Yes it is a transmissible disease. In infective period is upti 2 weeks. Please be atleast 1 meter away at all times ESP children. It is treatable with anti viral agents

Herpes is infectious disease and can be transmited through contact. Herepes usually subsides in two weeks time.
Herpes Zoster is seen in persons who had chicken pox in the past. Persons coming in contact with these persons can get infected with chicken pox, if they did not have chicken pox in the past. It's a viral disease and treatment is for secondary infection with bacteria.
