Unusual Food Habits During Pregnancy

Dear Doctor,

can you please tell me the reason why a pregnant feel like eating raw rice, mud in the rice,white slate pencil during pregnancy?If she does so,does it effect baby's health or growth in any ways?Please respond me ,I am eagerly waiting for the reason.

They are called as Pica as there would be hormonal changes in the body the brain is also affected and hence there will be craving for certain unconventional foods which has to be dealt with care and counselling.
