Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

From the information provided, there seems to be a partial/sub-acute obstruction in the colon. The possible causes of partial obstruction are :-

* Chronic Constipation :- leading to impacted stools in the colon and thereby, a partial obstruction in the colon. Bleeding along with stools may be due to either, consequent piles or, to abrasions in the anus/rectum caused by hard stools. A course of laxatives, high fiber diet, plenty of oral fluids should help.

* Early stage of Ulcerative Colitis, involving the rectum with or without terminal part of colon. The condition can be diagnosed on signmoidoscopy.

* Diverticulosis

* A growth in the colon, causing obstruction to passage of stools.

The exact cause can only be ascertained on Colonoscopy, which will reveal the cause of partial obstruction.

Consult your doctor who will order necessary tests and, based on the reports, will advise you on the next course of action.

Hope you find my response helpful and informative.
