Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my four year old son has ran a low grade temperature for 4 days and is coughing. Do you think it is seasonal allergies or something else? Should I take him to see a doctor or continue to give him over the counter medicine? Ive been giving him Delysum and tylenol
Hello. Thank you for your question. It the presence of fever, it is more likely to be an infection. Most infection that cause these symptoms in the pediatric age range are viral in nature. Typically, it will resolve on its own after a few days. If the delsym and Tylenol have been working, you may continue. However, if the fever persists or worsens, I recommend consulting with your doctor.
