Chronic Dull Chest Pain. Having Acid Reflux. Sometimes Have Unbearable Pain While Drinking Water. Cause?

I have had chronic dull chest pain in the left side of my chest for the last couple of months and sharp pains periodically. Sometimes when I drink water the pain is unbearable. Can anyone tell me what this may be? I do have acid reflux so I thought that might be it, but I ve also read that stress can also cause this.

hi there, as you have rightly pointed you may be getting these symptoms due to acid reflux which could in turn be aggravated by stress. None the less if you are over forty, postmenopausal or type A personality person it would be also a good practise to get a total body check up done which includes routine blood test, urine exam, x-ray chest,ECG, USG abdomen to rule out any underlying cause. Depending on the test results you may need to do any specialized tests if any. Take care.
