My daughter woke up with a black eye--not "raccoon eyes" but a bruise that extended down to her cheekbone and a bloody lip. She has no memory of passing out and falling, I didn't hear any noise such as falling down. This followed a day of what appeared to be the flu. Any ideas?
Hello It seems from the history that your daughter is having black eye because of collection of blood in the layers of the skin of the eyelid. The most common cause of black eye is injury, but some times can occur spontaneously also. The spontaneous forms require evaluation to find out the cause like bleeding disorders, viral infections.. The treatment is by cold compression and treatment of the underlying cause. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
