Pregnant Having Cold, Cough And Vomiting. Will The Cough Affect The Pregnancy? Any Home Remedy?

My wife is pregnant and she is on her first trimister. She was having cold and cough before pregnancy but she did not take any treatment at that time and now at this stage she is experiencing very severe cough at night followed by severe vomitting as a result of which she cannot sleep at night. She is also affraid that wheteher the cough will harm the baby in the womb. Kindly clarify with some home remedies as she has already consulted the Doctor for the same last week and the medicine shows no effect on her cough.

Hi, Wilfredjoseph,
Thanks for query.
Cough and cold at this stage of pregnancy is to be treated soon.
She may require treatment with antibiotic and cough suppressant.
Go for complete blood check up.
Consult your Obst. and he may go for appropriate antibiotic which is harmless at this stage.
She should avoid fried and junk food.
Ok and bye.
