How Does A Basically Healthy Person Lower His BP ?

I am tall and thin (6'5"/215 pounds). I am 31 and have a stressful job. I don't do drugs, I quit smoking (2 packs a night). Little fried food. I cut out coffee, soda and juice. I essentially drink gatorade and water all day. Mostly wine at night. I eat really well with lots of fruits and vegetables and salads. I never put salt on my food. I DONT exercise much. I already look like I have a swimmer's build- somehow I just do. Though I drink more than most people, I have dramatically reduced my alcohol consumption. (Cut out hard alcohol and only drink wine and beer). When I was drinking a bottle of vodka a night my blood pressure was 180/100. My blood pressure after 2 weeks of much less drinking is still high- 162/100. I intend to start hitting the gym again. Are there any herbs that lower bp? I read on yahoo answers that cinnamon works. Is this true? Also, will meditation group classes lower my bp? I hate taking drugs, has anything worked for you guys? Also, can listening to techno/trance raise bp subconsciously?

From books I have read, yoga, etc., can be used to lower blood pressure. If you really want to lower your blood pressure, loose weight, don't eat any salty foods, do not drink any kind of alcoholic beverages at all, don't drink gator aide. Do increase your activity level, perhaps using a treadmill or small dumbbells while watching TV. Garlic capsules and fishoil capsules are reported to help lower blood pressure. Log onto www.webmd.com or www.realage.com or similar sites for more and detailed information. Remember, part of it is in your DNA; part of it is your diet; part of it is your life style. Still, you can make changes.
