Hi Dr. I just finished my period, and I noticed a weird looking ..maybe a lump or pimple beside the right side of my vaginal lip. the area is pink, redish. it is a size of an almond and a bit purple on top of the lump and its very painful. it s painful for me to sit or walk. I m 23 and not sexually active and is a virgin . Is there a way to lower the pain and get ride of this?
Hello! Thanks for your query. As you describe ,lump in your vagina may be Bartholinitis . To be determined you should go to examine by your doctor, only with inspection of your vagina. To relief your pains you can use: SITZ baths three times daily ,soaking the cyst for 10 to 15 minutes holding a warm compress using painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen If the cyst becomes infected and an abscess (a painful collection of pus) develops, you may be prescribed antibiotics to clear the infection. Take care of your self
