Yellowish Discharge From Nose After Teeth Removal. Infection?

My mother recently had 6 teeth pulled and just called me saying there is a yellow fluid draining from her nose. In the middle of researching her symptoms she called again and said she blew her nose a big wad of mucous came out and now it smells like infection. Should she make an immediate doctor visit, as this could be some sort of infection?

Hi--this sounds like a typical sinus infection and not related to the tooth extractions. Usually these will clear without antibiotics in a few days but for now she shouldn't use any antihistamines or decongestants--better to let things drain rather than drying them up. If she starts to run a fever or develops a severe headache, she needs to be seen by a doctor
