Xray Shows Fibrotic Scarring In Lungs After Being Treated For TB. Has The Situation Got Better?
Hi doctor, I have been diagonozed with TB in June 2013. My recent Xray showed improvement as to the volume loss of left upper lung. But the report is stating there are fibrotic scarring redemonstrated. Is this something very seriours or even scary..I am taking my medicines regularly, m I supposed to visit doctor to discuss this? Is the situation getting corrected or worsened?
NORMALLY TB INFECTION HEALS WITH SCARRING AND FIBROSIS DENOTES SCARRING. SCARRING MAY DISAPPEAR AFTER SOMETIME OR MAY PERSIST DEPENDING ON THE INTENSITY OF EARLIER LESION AND THE EXTENT OF FIBROSIS. YOU MUST TAKE YOUR MEDICINES REGULARLY UNDER SUPERVISION OF YOUR PULMONOLOGIST AND CONSULT HIM IF DURATION OF TB TREATMENT NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED.
