Would You Consider Red Rashes And Bumps On Skin Caused By Allergic Reaction Contagious?

Hi my nearly one year old boy broke out in a extremely red bumpy rash on both cheeks over a few days it sort of hot a crusty yellow color to it, red calmed down slightly but a week later still there. He has faint spots all over body but sort of yellowish pus looking ones on his arms.
First dr said a bacterial rash and gave antibiotic 3 days later these spots became pussy like so went back to dr today who said allergic reaction to something but I just want to know if it could be something more serious and contagious!!
