Would Support Hose Help Tender Areas On Calf Muscle Diagnosed As Varicose Veins And Superficial Knots?

I have 2 tender areas 3 inches apart on my left calf muscle appeared 3 days ago. Doc sent me for scans the diagnosis wasn't a blood clot in my vein or artery but that my veins were varicose and some bleed out and that the knots were superficial. She told me that support hose would help. I have been having trouble with swollen ankle and foot for about 6 months. I'm on aspirin and diuretic and h/p meds levothyroxine calcitrol.

Hi and thank you so much for this query

I am so sorry to hear about these varicose veins. Varicose veins are unable to pump blood back to the heart normally. This leads to to fluids accumulating in the limb causing swelling and pains. A support hose would provide compression and help relief this defective blood flow to the heart and relief at least some of the symptoms. If this should fail, compressive trousers and surgical options alongside medications could be used to help you. Please, avoid long periods of standing erect and always try to keep the feet at the same level as your waist to facilitate blood flow back to the hear.Decreased salt intake would be a good idea as well.

I hope this addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for patronizing our services and please do feel free to ask for follow up clarifications and information if need be. I wish you the best of health.
