Hi, Doctor me and my wife had sex last night. I use condom on a regular basis, but yesterday i did not. Though i'm confident that i did not drop it in her vagina... but still my wife wants to have an i pill. As we are not prepared for a baby right now. If she has i pill will it affect her periods?
The I pill may cause the period after the pill to be irregular. Usually many women experience some bleeding within 7 days after the I pill. But it depends upon which phase of the menstrual cycle the pill is taken. The date of the next period may be delayed in some cases. It does not have any effect on future fertility. However it is very effective in preventing pregnancies.
So please take a decision as soon as possible as the pill must betaken within 72 hours of unprotected sexual episode.
