Hi,

While endometrial ablation is generally considered a safe procedure, it is possible, although rare, for it to cause pulmonary embolism (PE). PE occurs when a blood clot travels from the veins in the body, usually in the legs, and lodges in the lungs.

Although endometrial ablation is not a known cause of pulmonary embolism, there is a small risk of developing blood clots during or after the procedure. This risk may be increased in women who have a history of blood clotting disorders, such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), or who have other risk factors for developing blood clots, such as smoking, obesity, or prolonged immobility.

If you experience symptoms of pulmonary embolism, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, rapid heart rate, or coughing up blood, seek immediate medical attention. Your healthcare provider will evaluate your symptoms and determine the appropriate treatment, which may include anticoagulant medication to dissolve the blood clot and prevent further clots from forming.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
