Will The Dessert Climate Cause Any Adverse Effect On Bypass Surgery?

My husband and I are considering relocating to Las Vegas. He's had bypass surgery and 9 years later another heart attack. He's now taking his medication religiously and is fine with enough rest daily. Will the dessert climate affect this condition adversely?

Thank you for your question. I can appreciate your concern and hope I can help. Dessert climate in and of itself will not be detrimental to your husband's heart however over exertion in the heat or heat exhaustion can be detrimental and cause his heart to have work harder and this can be bad for his heart and health.

He should make efforts to avoid any situations where he is over heating or over exposed to climate extremes and he will do well. Any time the body has to work to keep the body at a normal temperature the heart is required to work harder and over working the heart is not good for people with heart disease.

I hope this helps.

Be well, thank you
