Will The Candiderm Cream For The Vaginal Infection Affect The Pregnancy

HI doctor am seven months pregnant but i developed an infection in my vagina and decided to use candiderm cream without asking my doctor since the itching was too strong at night. i dont want too loose my baby coz he is our family s hope. will the cream affect my pregnancy

Hi,
It is not the cream, but the infection that may be harmful if you do not get it properly treated. I would suggest having a physical examination by your consultant before initiating the medication as a proper diagnosis and a proper prescription is always needed for vaginal infections to get treated completely, especially in pregnancy. Please maintain genital hygiene and avoid sexual intercourse. Your partner may also need to be treated. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you a safe motherhood.
