Will Taking Zantac Be Effective For Pain In Chest Area?

i have a pain in my in my chest area it seems to be under my breast the left one i anm getting up alot of wind and i i am went to the chemist and got zantac the pain is at the my back justunder my shoulder blade iam taking 75mg of the zantaci some times get relef but not for long

Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your query, it seems that you might be having gastritis. Zantac(Ranitidine) will help in relief of your symptoms but I would suggest following :-
- Take Ranitidine 150 mg twice daily before meals instead of 75 mg.
- Also take Domperidone 30 mg along with it.

If the problem persists, an ultrasound of upper abdomen will be helpful.
I hope your stool is of normal consistency. If abnormal, I would also advise for a stool examination.

Following precautions may be helpful :-
1. Avoid spicy and oily foods.
2. Avoid being empty stomach for long periods.
3. Avoid mental/emotional stress.
4. Drink lots of water daily.
5. Eat healthy food prepared under hygienic conditions.
6. Avoid gas forming foods like cabbage, legumes, etc.
7. Do not talk while eating and do not eat fast.
8. Avoid excess of tea and coffee.
