Will Taking Methotrexate Cause Rib Pain, runny Nose And Sinus Pressure?

I have been diagnosed with Sarcoidosis and am on 40mg/10mg every other day of Prednisone. I also started Methotrexate 10mg once a week. I have only taken this once. Today I stared having rib pain. I also have a runny nose and sinus pressure. Isthis a side effect from the Methotrexate?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
No, these are not side effects of methotrexate drug.
But possibility of Sinus infection due to immunosuppression is more in your case.
Prednisone and methotrexate both are immunosuppressive drugs. Both can cause decrease in immunity and make patient susceptible to infection.
Nose infections are common in such patients.
So better to consult ENT doctor and get done endoscopic examination of sinuses.
You may need antibiotics, anti histamine and anti inflammatory drugs.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
