Will Mycorest Interfere With The Effectiveness Of Contraceptive Pills?

I had external thrush and a light green looking discharge, which smelled like yeast, what could have caused it? The Dr prescribed Mycorest and another pill that I had to insert viginally, and the infection seems to have cleared. I would also like to find out if Mycorest is an antibiotic? Will it interfere with the effectiveness of my contraceptive pills?

Hello,
Yes it is a yeast infection.
Your doctor prescribed Fluconazole oral and vaginal tablet.
It is enough for this yeast infection.
As your infection is gone, nothing to worry.
Single dose of fluconazole is enough for this infection.
It is an Antifungal and not an antibiotic.
Usually fluconazole does not interfere with Oral Contraceptive Pills at single dose.
However long term use of fluconazole may interfere with Oral Contraceptive pills.

Hope this helps.

Wishing you good health.
