Will I Become Dependent On 'montek LC' If I Use It Regularly For Breathing Problem?

Hi I have been experiencing shortness of breath and the chest seems to be congested causing me to breathe in more air and stop my regular activity. This started a few weeks ago - before that I had no issues and I was playing regularly without any problems.Now since the last few days I could see that I am not comfortable breathing in and I have to take rest and sometimes my chest freezes up causing me to be immobile for a few minutes, till I get my breath back.I sometimes take Montek LC in the night and I have no issues for a day or so and I could actually feel that my breathing is not a problem. I sometimes resort to Asthalin inhaler for immediate relief.I am male, 35 years old and I usually have breathing problems during cold season and polluted environments.Can you tell me if I use Montek LC regularly, would my body become dependent on this tablet.Thanks-Rahul

I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of allergic disease like asthma is more because you are having symptoms after exposure to cold and pollution and you are improving with montek LC (anti allergic + anti histamine).
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
PFT is must for the diagnosis of asthma. It will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment of asthma is based on severity only.
Asthma needs long term treatment with Inhaled drugs and oral combination of antihistamine and anti allergic drugs.
No harm in taking these drugs for long time. So no harm or habit forming or dependency by montek LC on long term use.
