Will Eltroxin And Thyronorm Being Taken To Treat Thyroid And Lump In Neck Give Rise To Side Effects?
I am around 39 yrs, male. I am taking both eltroxin as well as thyronorm. I have been suggested to take these medicines for lifetime. Is there any side effects? can u give me any alternative way of treating thyroid/goiter. I have a lemon sized lump on my neck. It was quite large in size but now it has decreased. Can I continue to take these medications for life long. Please suggest.

thyronorm and eltroxin are a form of thyroid hormone which are given to correct the level of This hormone in the body.These medicines can be taken for life time without any side effect.But the adjustment of the dose of medicine is very important because the requirement varies person to person.So you need regular thyroid investigations and to visit your GP for this.And these medicines are the treatment of choice for goiter. So you can continue taking them without any side effect.

Swelling of the thyroid gland is called Goiter.
It may be normal or abnormal .
To know, you have to undergo thyroid function tests like T3,T4,and Tsh.
If the results show hypothyroid state, then you need Eltoxin or Thyronorm.
Both these drugs are same and contain L-thyroxine.
Of course the treatment is life long.
Consult endocrinologist and take correct dose under his supervision.
