Will A Bruise On Face Heal In Time?

my son took an elbow to the cheek about a month ago in a basketball game. It was bruised at first but now the bruise is gone. He is now sporting a new dimple on his cheek...due to a firm mass about the size of a dime under the skin. Will this go away on it's own?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

I am quite empathetic to your son's injury. Your son has got a bruise mark which takes almost 14 days to heal completely.

It will change its color from blue to black to green and then yellowish before completely vanishing off.

Do not try any massages oils or any thing on face as it can cause aggravation of bruising.

If I were his treating doctor then would have prescribed thrombophobe gel for local application.

Do have good sun protection as well as vitamin C in diet.

All the best.
