Will Trileptal Intake Adversely Affect A Child Having Children S Mucinex, Motrin And Benadryl?

My son began trileptal today and I am concerned about drug interactions. He is 4 years old and has had a couple seizures. He has never been on anti- seizure medicine before and he has a cold. He had children s mucinex, childrensĀ Motrin and childrens benydryl today.

Hi,

You are right Trileptal may have many side effects and interaction however we use it only if it benefits are more then risks.

If your child had more then one seizure then ts necessary to use the medicine as seizures are much worse then any drug. Generally, we use this drug and most people do not have any major adverse effect. We can always change it if anything was wrong.

There is no major interaction with the drugs you mentioned so no need to worry.
