My friend is on Antitubercular therapy for tuberculous lymphadenitis since 13 days now. He suddenly had diarrhea today evening. Is it safe to administer Enterogermina to him? Is there any interaction between enterogermina and ATT? Age: 54yrs Weight: 55kgs

Hi,

ATT usually do not cause diarrhea as their side effect. However other causes of diarrhea should be determined and treated accordingly. There is no documented any harmful interaction between the ATT and the probiotic enterogermina hence the probiotic may given to reduce the frequency of loose motions.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
