Widal Test Done, Fever. Am I Having Typhoid?

Hello Doc. I had my widal tests done and the report are as follows:

S Typhi O Antigen = Absent
S Typhi H Antigen = 1:80
S Paratyphi A(H) Antigen = Absent
S Paratyphi B(H) Antigen = Absent

Could you please advise me if I have typhoid? I jst got fever for a day (Couple of days back with shivering cold) but nothing for now. Also, the SGOT count shows as H 41.0 and SGPT count shows as H 60. what does this means. Please advise. Thanks, S.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello dear
thanks for your query at HCM
as for widal test is concerned single test doesnot prove anything
antibodies s typhi o more than 1 in 80 , and s typhi h more than 1 in 160 considered as typhoid positive
more important than this is repeat widal test showing four fold increase in level is more diagnostic of typhoid
your report does not confirm or rule out typhoid disease
you may have to repeat test if needed .
other enzyme levels are within normal range only
reagrds
I find this answer helpful
