Hello,

In people with normal thyroid levels, hormone changes in HPT triggers depression. Brain function is also affected. Your teenager is suggested to get done repeat T3, T4 and TSH. Thyroid hormone imbalances lower energy and physical strength. If the levels show imbalances, treatment will be accordingly.

Get your teenager clinically examined by a psychiatrist / counsellor, she/he may need medical support, conservative treatment and therapy like CBT, talk therapy, group therapy, etc. The teenager is advised to stay away from addictions like drugs, smoking, alcohol.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
