Why There Are Itchy Rashes Around The Clexane Injected Areas?

I m 7 weeks pregnant, and I have have to inject myself with 40mg of Clexane every day. I started off with 20mg. Since I switched to 40mg, I noticed a slightly itchy rash by the injection sites. I don t have any other symptoms of an allergic reaction besides the rash. I inject on my tummy and alternate from left to right. the rash started on the right and is now on the left. Should I be very concerned?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question. Injection clexane is injected subcutaneously and it has a common side effect of rash in the injected area.
This is due to leakage of the clexane( low molecular weight heparin) locally, which leads to a bruised like rash. It can also be itchy sometimes.
Such reaction can also occur if you have changed the brand of the drug.
I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined and get treated accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
