HI MY WIFE IS 2 MONTH PREGNANT AND DOCTOR TOLD US TO TAKE THE INJECTION CALL OVUMAX HP 5000IU EVERY ONCE A WEEK AND TO GO FOR ATLEAST 8 TO 9 DOSAGE OF INJECTION WHY? PLEASE CAN U EXPLANE ME AND IS THIS INJECTION IS SAFE FOR MY WIFE AND MY CHILD??? WORRIED HELP...

hello and welcome to the forum,

Ovumax contains the hormone HCG and is used to maintain pregnancy and prevent abortions. It is safe to use during pregnancy and adverse effects have not been documented on the baby.

The use is advocated till 10 -12 weeks and after that it is better to use progesterone. So please get this clarified by your doctor if the injection was to be used for 8-9 doses or 8-9 weeks.

Please do not worry. It is nothing serious. It may have been prescribed prophylactically to prevent abortions. So do not worry.
