Why Is The Area In Front Of The Ear Swollen?

Yes I have noticeable swelling behind my ear and the area in front of ear is swollen and hard like a bone. The ear aches off and on like ear infection and heat really feels good ct scan shows swollen around vocal cord I have no sore throat or hoarseness most pain is around ear and down the back and upper back of my neck what can be going on even dizziness occurs when it's really swollen

I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely parotitis. I usually treat with broad spectrum antibiotics like clindamycin or amoxicillin plus clavulanic acid.Some times i get a culture and sensitivity test from swab of stenson duct from mouth.If it is not responding to antibiotic then an ultrasound examination and if abscess is present a drainage of puss will be essential.Hope this may help you.
